A School That Makes Sense

A School That Makes Sense™

Imagine the dynamics of this recent scene: Principals and administrators are at a table, scouring their Student/Parent Handbooks for any sign of ludicrous policies and procedures. They want to be a school that makes sense because when you don’t, people get frustrated and mad and your mission is undermined. This “Ludi-Sweep,” as we call it, produced good results. They uncovered a couple dozen of their own Ludi-Q’s inside their policies and procedures. And they made the changes necessary to make more sense. This is like opening windows in a stuffy room. The very air and spirit of a place improves.

This particular school’s superintendent, Ken Friesen, is a client of Jan Black’s and had found Ludi-Q’s helpful in refining his leadership style. He wanted to see if these little shortcuts to clarity would have the same helpful results when applied to his schools. His hunch was right. Now we’re designing the next steps in the school’s Ludi-Q evolution.

Do your policies and procedures support your mission or undermine them? A Ludi-Sweep will let you know. Contact us for more information.
